I am a weaver and textile designer based in North London. Primarily I work with natural fibres sourced from second hand, surplus stock or from UK mills. All textiles are made handmade to order to ensure the least amount of waste and any excess is then recycled back into other projects. My work is material led and allows yarns and fibres to display their own inherent qualities, playing on the limits imposed by the weaving process resulting in linear and structural designs. By considering the requirements of each project and designing and making to address them, I hope to create functional material specific to its intended use. i.e. a scarf is conceptualised from the outset as a scarf, not just as a piece of cloth, each with its own unique design, weight and dimensions.
